One of our main allies is Kula Loans International an organization that from its name gives clarity about its purpose within society, “Kula” is a Sanskrit word that means “The community of the heart”. This organization was founded in the Netherlands in 2018 dares to take the risk of providing credit to underprivileged populations, which have entrepreneurs and solutions that result in a benefit for all members and therefore has become our strategic ally to develop our Credimpacto program, because it allows us to have sufficient economic resources, to support through the granting of credit entrepreneurs peasant and indigenous communities in Colombia who live in rural areas and that in addition to the desire have the will to change their reality.
In 2020 the alliance with Kula Loans International was formally established and since then we have been working on training community entrepreneurs in different concepts that are necessary to achieve the success of any business initiative. At this moment Kula Loans has provided us with economic resources worth COP$65,000,000 that will be delivered in the month of May to approximately nine enterprises belonging to the department of La Guajira with whom we have worked in different training workshops, and who now complete their training process, thanks to the determination that accompanied them throughout the process and allowed them to overcome obstacles typical of rural regions such as connectivity problems caused by insufficient coverage of telecommunications companies, lack of electricity that led them to travel long distances to always be able to attend their classes without fail.
Thanks to Kula Loans International, Coimpacto B has been able to become the helping hand that rural entrepreneurs need to develop their businesses and thus contribute to the development of their populations in an autonomous manner while maintaining a balance in the social, economic and environmental fields.
