The Embera Chami community is located 5 min from the town of Jardín, the amount of foreigners who come to this beautiful town do not imagine that they have an ancestral culture there in the Karmatua Rua Resguardo, where approximately 1800 indigenous people live, this community has never been open to tourism, Comfenalco Antioquia last year began a beautiful project to include community tourism in this reserve, Coimpactob entered as an ally in this beautiful adventure, which is why on October 23, 2022 we met for the first time this community recognizing their territory to get a minimum viable product where we learned a lot about their culture, infrastructure, problems, daily life, among others, having as a basis a diagnosis for the design, management and measurement of impact aligned to the objectives of sustainable development of the first ethnic tourist route in Antioquia but we could not carry out this dream from one day to another, we had to go through a process to prepare the community generating capacities and skills uniting generations, that is why we conducted a workshop on inclusive leadership with purpose, We had to go through a process to prepare the community to generate capacities and skills uniting generations, that is why we conducted an integrative leadership workshop with purpose, an art festival, more than five visits were made to co-create with the community this first route with the objective that they appropriate it and see tourism as a way of life and also a tool for social transformation to preserve their culture, our role was to help design the project taking into account the context, we also began to design and implement the impact measurement route for the sustainable tourism route in the Embera Chami reservation taking into account the stakeholders, It has been an incredible experience to see how a community empowers itself and takes ownership of the territory since they cannot change the world but they can change the little piece they have, that is why currently social participation has increased, there is already ownership of the territory, we are strengthening enterprises with our education programs, mentoring with the EAN University, different projects that are contributing to the community to be prepared for community tourism being beneficial to generate associativity, leadership, economic development, i.e. a community empowerment to transform their environment in a social, environmental and economic way.
